SEPAC provides the following value to members:
Advocate to Government
- SEPAC is recognized by governments and regulators in Ottawa,
Edmonton, Regina, Victoria and Winnipeg as the voice of
the junior oil and gas sector in Canada.
- The principal focus of our work is to lobby government
on policy and legislation and to work with regulators and
other industry associations to ensure the perspective of the junior
oil and gas industry is heard and reflected in new legislation or regulation.
- SEPAC's consistent theme is to advocate for reduction of taxes and
royalties where possible and simplify and streamline regulation
where appropriate.
- Our goal is to preserve and enhance the business and operating environment for the junior oil and gas sector in Canada.
Educate the Public
- SEPAC responds to the media on topical issues to explain
the junior oil and gas perspective and educate the public
about the interests and concerns
of our industry.
- SEPAC participates in print and television advertising
to educate the public about the petroleum industry's contribution
to the prosperity of Canada and our nation's energy security.
- SEPAC issues news releases to state its position on issues that affect our industry.
Communicate to Members
- SEPAC publishes several times a year (Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer
editions) the Explorer, a full colour 16 to 20 page newsletter
covering topics of interest to our members.
- SEPAC distributes by email its Explorer E-bulletin,
a summary of current news and information as well as listings
of upstream industry events and conferences. Convenient links to more
detailing information available on the internet are a feature of the
Explorer E-bulletin.
- SEPAC hosts an Annual General Meeting as well as
SEPAC Speaker Series luncheons with
prominent guest speakers on topical issues.
- SEPAC offers its Producer Members the Associate Member Online Directory, which is a quick and easy way to identify companies who supply products and services to junior oil and gas producers.
Investor Showcase
- Twice a year (Spring and Fall) SEPAC organizes, promotes and hosts its Investor Showcase, an opportunity for publicly traded SEPAC Producer members to present their company to an audience of investors, analysts, media and other petroleum industry executives and professionals.
Other Value to Membership
- SEPAC offers its members an opportunity to get involved in volunteer
committees working on industry issues.
- SEPAC supplies to its members blanket Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificates, both Alberta and Federal.
